Biography

Tanya (she/her) joined CEA in June 2021 and serves as an Associate in the Philanthropic Services practice. She works across several environmental issue areas, including renewable energy, marine conservation, and sustainable seafood to support clients in the strategic philanthropy space. Tanya’s expertise and interests include project management, communications, research, and JEDI programming.

Prior to joining CEA, Tanya served as president of the Berkeley Forum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing diverse and interdisciplinary perspectives to the Berkeley community. During this time, she also worked as a corporate research intern for CorpWatch, where she documented instances of corporate non-compliance with human rights and environmental standards. In addition, as a member of The Human Rights Center of University of California, Berkeley School of Law, Tanya used her forensic and geospatial analysis skills to help the International Criminal Court bring a multinational corporation to justice for environmental degradation.

Tanya holds a BA, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. She conducted her award-winning senior thesis research on community-led waste worker movements in India and Brazil.
